Symptoms:

  • Similar to respiratory tract illnesses
  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • In more severe cases, secondary lower-respiratory tract illnesses, such as pneumonia or bronchitis

Transmission:

Human coronaviruses is most commonly spread from an infected person to others through:

  • The air by coughing and sneezing
  • Close personal contact, such as touching or shaking unwashed/un-sanitized hands
  • Touching an unwashed/un-sanitized object or surface with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes before washing/sanitizing your hands

Precautionary Measures:

  • Clean your hands frequently with an alcohol-based rub or soap and water
  • Cover your nose and mouth with your inner elbow or disposable tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  •  Avoid close contact with anyone that has symptoms.
  • Clean your hands immediately, using an alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water, after close contact with anyone.
  • Do not share your personal electronic devices with anyone that has symptoms.
  • Frequently clean your personal electronic devices with an alcohol-based wipe.
  • Clean your personal electronic devices immediately, with an alcohol-based wipe, after usage by another individual.


If you experience symptoms:

  • Contact a medical provider before visiting an urgent care location or going to the doctor office.
  • If you or someone you know does not have insurance, call the Cottage Grove Health Center in Ford Heights. Follow the prompts to speak with the medical provider on-call 24/7. 708-753-5800.
  •  Go to an urgent care clinic or make a doctor appointment.
  • Share your concerns with a Respond Now staff member or volunteer.
  • Ask for a Respond Now staff member for assistance and resources.
